Moving into this home, I was ready to give washable rugs a try. I recently tried the spillproof Tumble rugs, and I have to say—it’s been a game-changer! So much so, I regularly switch out between 3 different styles for our living room to give variety during washes, and I even have another one in the kid’s homeschool room! If you’re like me and have pets, kids, or a busy household, these rugs are an absolute lifesaver!
Below is my honest review of why I love them, but I do also include a few notes at the bottom of things to consider before purchase. If you decide to move forward with them, I also have $20 off waiting for you at the bottom of this blog post!
Design and Aesthetic
Tumble rugs offer a wide range of beautiful designs, and I was really impressed by how stylish and modern they look in person. I went with a vintage-inspired pattern first, the 8×10 Amara Blush, and it instantly elevated my living room. The colors are rich and exactly as advertised, making it easy to match with existing décor. The low-pile design makes it perfect for high-traffic areas, and it still feels soft underfoot despite not being thick. Next, to give me a backup to put down instantly while I put the first one through the wash, I went with the 8×10 Sable Green & Multi. Then when they launched their washable faux fur rugs, I had to try it, and that’s the one we are currently loving at the moment, the 6×9 Cozy Fur in Ivory. As my kids said, it feels like they are petting a polar bear. And I love that it gives our living room a luxury look that is washable… because kids and dogs.
Machine-Washable Convenience
The best part about the Tumble rugs? They are machine-washable! With pets and kids constantly causing spills and messes, being able to blot up the spills that bead up for easy wipe up, or toss the rug in the washing machine has been a total game-changer as a mom. I’ve washed my rugs a few times now, and it comes out looking brand new each time. No more worrying about stains or odors—just toss it in, wash, and you’re good to go. It’s super practical for busy households, and the convenience alone is worth every penny.
Non-Slip Backing
Another feature I absolutely love is the built-in non-slip backing with built in corner pockets that go over the foam mat. It keeps the rug securely in place, even in high-traffic areas. I no longer have to worry about slipping or constantly readjusting the rug like I have with others. This is especially handy when you have kids running around.
Durability and Quality
For a machine-washable rug, the quality is impressive. The material feels durable but still soft to the touch, and the rug holds up really well to daily use. I was a little skeptical about how well it would last after multiple washes, but so far, no fraying or fading. It seems built to handle both pets and kids!
Price
While Tumble rugs can be a bit more expensive than your typical rug, I think the price is completely justified given the convenience and quality. The ability to throw it in the wash whenever you need to clean it is a major plus, especially compared to the cost of professional rug cleaning.
OVERALL PRO’S YOU’LL LOVE:
• Stylish and Versatile: Great designs that fit into any décor style.
• Machine-Washable: Convenient for families with kids, pets, or high-traffic areas.
• Non-Slip Backing: Rug stays in place without slipping or bunching.
• Durable for Daily Use: Holds up well to daily wear and tear, especially in high-traffic areas.
THINGS TO CONSIDER BEFORE PURCHASE:
• Not Plush: If you want a soft, cushy rug, a majority of their rugs are more of a lay flat low pile option. But if plush is what you want, try one of their faux fur rugs.
• Large Sizes Need Large Washers & Dryers: Thankfully for our 8×10 rugs, we already had an oversized washer and dryer that could fit comforters, but for those with normal capacity size, the larger rugs may not fit well.
• Somewhat Pricey: You’re paying for the washable feature, so it might feel expensive compared to similar non-washable rugs. And for convenience, you might want 2 to have a back up to put down on laundry days.
• Pet Hair Challenge: The good news is, these spillproof rugs stand up to pet messes, but pet hair will still require vacuuming before washing. Plus if your kids are like mine, it’s a good idea to vacuum up all the crumbs before tossing the rug in the wash.
• Vacuum Challenge: And on that topic, while yes you can vacuum these rugs on a low setting, if you don’t have a low setting option, the rug will pull up in the suction on higher power vacuum settings.
FINAL THOUGHTS
Overall, I’m thrilled with all 4 of my Tumble rugs. Each of the rugs have been stylish, practical, and so easy to maintain. If you have a busy household and are looking for a beautiful, worry-free rug, I highly recommend giving Tumble a try. It’s made my life so much easier, and the fact that it still looks great after multiple washes is a huge win.
Tumble rugs is definitely a 5-star product in my book! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
